Andrea Ocampo is a bilingual sports, entertainment, and lifestyle television host as well as an accomplished speaker, blogger, and producer. Experienced in a variety of genres, she’s currently trailblazing the sports broadcasting industry leaving a lasting impression on fans everywhere. Her footprint made her a fan favorite at the NHL’s Florida Panthers, FAU Football, and ESPN’s Marmot Boca Raton Bowl. She has been featured on ESPN and Fox Sports talking about the latest sports news as both an anchor and a sideline reporter. She also served as the public address announcer for the 2015 NHL Draft and was the first Spanish speaking female public address announcer in the NHL. Most recently she was hired by the WWE/NXT as host/ring announcer, an opportunity that has catapulted her to international notoriety.
A self-titled chameleon in the business, Andrea’s journey began in Armenia, Colombia. Shortly after her birth, her family moved to South Florida in search of a better life. It was then that Ocampo showed her first signs of a love for entertainment. Enrolled in dance classes at an early age, Andrea’s life has always involved performing. “As a kid, just about my favorite thing to do after school was put on a pair of ridiculously high leather boots, smear my mom’s red lipstick on, and dance to Vanilla Ice’s ‘Ice Ice Baby’ in front of the mirror,” recalls Ocampo. “A few years later, I traded in my hairbrush for a real microphone, quickly earned a degree in broadcasting from the Art Institute of Ft. Lauderdale, and started living my dream.” She got her first taste of the business at NBC6 as an intern and shortly after became an NFL Miami Dolphins Cheerleaders. She was able to combine her love for dance in sports into one and was able to take advantage of the opportunities given to her while on the sidelines. Modeling and acting quickly followed and before Andrea knew it, she had an agent and was booking work left and right.
During the off-season Andrea’s talents are widely sought after in the world of entertainment and lifestyle hosting, with many national television shows to her name. She recently wrapped a travel series for the Walt Disney Company where both she and Mickey Mouse take you through the various activities available while visiting the company’s Orlando theme parks. She’ll also be making an appearance on the Travel Channel as she goes on an unforgettable adventure to Greece on the upcoming show “One Way Ticket”. Experienced in digital media in a variety of formats, Ocampo has covered prestigious red carpet events, including being featured as an entertainment expert on “CNN En Español”, Yahoo!, ESPN, CBS4, Fusion, Univision and others.
